Observation notes: This butterfly is larger and darker than the other gray hairstreaks I have documented. it has white edged wings and more elaborate tails. Several species of hairstreak do not have photos to accompany on inaturalist. could be displaced from indigenous growth of the forest fire or blown here on the wind - bits of debris from the fire including dead species have blown over this way as well.
