Observation notes: In shade of mixed deciduous forest adjacent to creek, notably large burr oak, walnut, hickory; below tallgrass prairie uplands. Lacks prominent speckling, has immaculate defined fine lines crossing wing but not ending at forewing tip/corner, rather more anterior. Distinct two spots on each wing, within distinct color patch. Distinct scalloping line pattern on posterior margin of wing (dorsal and ventral).

Coordinator notes: I had to do a little image searching online before I came across this moth. There has been a couple more recent records in KC area of Kansas, and I do see on this site it is recorded from Ottawa County. For you a good find though as it looks to probably be a new county for you. Thank you! JAMES STEEN
