Observation date: April 29, 2023

Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Observed along the north perimeter of the College of San Mateo campus. Was photographed on Ceanothus while it was sunning. It has some of the characteristics of ssp. 'bayensis, but I'm not 100% sure. This location is located about 7 miles SSW of known residence at San Bruno Mountain, and perhaps a little closer to a Montana Mountain colony site. Adjacent habitat is 'inland coastal scrub' and has been in protected status for many years.
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: One of the problems with mossii and augustinus is both can occur in the same areas! Mossii tends to have heavier more complete markings on the hind wings below. This photo looks like typical augustinus iroides-Ken Davenport
