Coordinator notes: If you look at the general pattern, you can see this is different than the classic Boloria genus pattern seen. This is a member of the "Greater Fritillaries," or the genus Speyeria. The dark wing margins and basal dark spot are classic for S. atlantis. If you get a view of their eyes, they are usually bright gray-blue in color as well. To make things even easier, this is also the only member of Speyeria that can be found in Newfoundland (from the records that I can see). -jmgesell
