Large Tolype Moth
Tolype velleda

Observation date: September 28, 2022
Submitted by: Lightworker1955
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I thought it was a Dotted Line White Moth, but on closer scrutiny, the wings seem different. He was on my garage door on a beautiful sunny morning after a cool night...39 for an overnight low. I tried to shoo him away so he wouldn't get squished when I opened the door, but he flew down and landed on my shoe where he died! I'm not sure exactly what happened...I didn't physically touch him. Maybe you could help me properly identify him, he was GORGEOUS!
