Bronze Copper
Lycaena hyllus

Observation date: September 26, 2022
Submitted by: Robert Gorman
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This female appeared to be depositing eggs on this plant as it walked along. We did see males and females though more females, most of the females were old. Think we only saw one male, we also saw Eastern Comma, Monarch, Viceroy, Tailed Blue, Harvester, and some grass Skippers. Also Orange sulphur and Cabbage white. Seeing so quite a few Monarch so late in the season was a surprise so far north. Moist wetlands surrounded by woodlands and meadows. Lots of water foul and other birds. Think we also had pearl crescent and Northern Crescent.
