Observation notes: I'm not sure about the subspecies. The males in this area are not so heavily marked on the HW. Nectaring on Mount Eddy buckwheat in a high meadow (almost 7,400'). Last photo is habitat.

Coordinator notes: Subspecies submaculata is in your region, but I don't know if yours is that. It (submaculata) is a widespread subspecies in the Sierra Nevada south to Tulare County.---Ken Davenport
