Observation notes: Sisters have arrived, in small numbers, to the canyons of the Organ Mountains near Las Cruces, NM. A newly arrived individual in Soledad Canyon was observed basking and taking nutrients/electrolytes from spring water at the head of Soledad Canyon; it spent most of the time defending territory near large oak, western hackberry, and maple trees. The day was hot, mostly sunny, and with occasional wind gusts up-canyon.
