Observation notes: Satyrodes appalachia — separated from Enodia anthedon by head capsule shape — feeding on a Carex species at this vernal pool — site of a known colony of appalachia, in proper appalachia habitat (a wet woodland v. the open sedge meadow habitat of S. eurydice).
