Observation notes: Saw her land on the ground, then fly to a Lupine and oviposit (see pics). Approximately 70 degrees, mostly sunny and calm.

Coordinator notes: These Duskywings are hard to ID with confidence from photos (yours is a bit overexposed). I've called this Persius because this species is much more commonly found in the foothills than Afranius. Females in particular are difficult to separate because both have the light area on the forewings and well defined spots on the upper hindwings. But you will almost always find afrainius at the edge of the foothills where they meet the prairie (two flights, one April through May, the other July through August) and persius into the mountains (one flight only in May through July). Both species use various legumes (as lupine) as host plants. Mike
