Redundant Skipper
Corticea corticea

Observation date: February 10, 2017
Submitted by: Martin Reid
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Note the lack of any pale spots in the wings, and the area behind and below the eye is tinged with orange-buff. N, julia has a least some white pots on the FW, and the area behind/below the eye is white. The orange behind the antennae clubs is sparse, but given the extent of wear on this individual some of the scales could have sloughed-off; there are images online of individuals with a similar degree of orange below the clubs. Shape is subtly different. Ed Knudson liked it for Corticea.
