Eight-spotted Forester
Alypia octomaculata

Observation date: June 07, 2020
Submitted by: CrescentWing34
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Initially thought that this was some sort of exotic skipper or small butterfly. Tended to be very bouncy anytime other insects passed by. Only one that I have seen to date. Weather was very cool in the early morning hours and warmed to pleasant early summer temperatures as the day progressed. Clear skies most of the day with occasional wind gusts.
