MPG provides this note: "atocala pretiosa Lintner, 1876 is elevated from synonymy of 8858 Catocala crataegi to full species status in Schweitzer (1982), Journ. Lepid. Soc., 28: 5-21, and includes as a synonym [8859] Catocala texarkana Brower, 1976 in Gall & Hawks (2010), ZooKeys 39: 70."
