Coordinator notes: This is the Western Pigmy Blue, among the smallest butterflies, if not the smallest in the world. I'm still trying to figure out if it is a year around resident in the lower valleys of western Colorado. My own earliest sighting is April 30 and my latest is December 2nd or 3rd. As small as they are, they do migrate and while I continue to find evidence they stay here year around I'll call them "temporary colonists" that produce two or three broods consistently here every year.
