Observation notes: blue sky high 57, a few puffy clouds. moist due to over an inch of rain on 12/31/14 two days ago, been seeing this, and painted lady, west coast lady, red admiral, anise, and a checkered white. not positive of id on white~ all were hill topping, for the last few days. less activity when it gets below 60, then its usually just ladies and admiral. very green grasses in fire breaks. coastal sage scrub. on lemon aid berry to hill top and getting some nectar/sun here and there! Part of the tail missing, possible attack of hungry critter? note only damage to tail, was rubbing wings together when they were closed. when open it would flick wings closed very fast when i would get too close/
