Subfamily: Hadeninae
Identification: Forewing brown with yellowish green shading in basal and st. areas. Black basal dash at inner margin and large, solid claviform spot. Reniform spot outlined in white, thicker in lower half. Hindwing white, brown toward apex.
Wing Span: 2.1-3 cm.
Life History:
Flight: May-October; two broods.
Caterpillar Hosts: Many wild and cultivated plants such as apple trees, cabbage, clover, corn, and tobacco.

Range: Most of eastern North America, except southern Texas.
