Observation notes: they have lots of natives in Thomas Riley butterfly garden, false indigo is one, this is the first area i saw calif dog face thanks to peter bryants butterflys of orange co web site. very warm day clear. fast erratic flyer back lit notice outline of poodle face in dark part of wing, visible when fluttering through false indigo looking for receptive females. always land with wings closed except when sunning them selves? very very beautiful. happy hunting
