Observation notes: We found this moth at midday hanging out on my daughter's skateboard which was located on our front porch. He stayed all day and was gone by the time it got dark. The next morning we checked the porch and he had returned but was perched on my daughter's scooter handle. Again he stayed all day until the evening. Both days he did not move from his perch. At one point I was trying to take close up pictures and he started moving his wings and seemed to "puff up" a little bit but that was the only movement that I saw during the two day period. Unfortunately the second night he was laying in front of the door shuttering and then he tried to fly and seemed like he was having a difficult time. The next day we did not see him on the porch or anywhere close to our house. I was sad to see him gone because I had never seen anything like him was enthralled by his presence.
