Observation notes: It was in the low 80s, overcast, currently raining heavily (tropical storm Debby was currently passing overhead), and with a 15mph wind in the northwest direction. The moth was perched high on the outside of a back porch screen where a narrow awning protected it from the rain. It flew by afternoon.
