Observation notes: Spotted this lovely creature on my array of Sedum; at first I thought it was Speyeria cybele, but then after looking more closely at the pictures, saw that it was totally different, both in colour and markings. I found this page http://www.cbif.gc.ca/spp_pages/butterflies/captions/GreatBasinFritillarycap_e.php and thought it looked very similar - unfortunately, didn't get a picture of the underside of the wings. This page states that this butterfly isn't in Canada - do they actually recognize an international border??
