Observation notes: My grandparents saw these in the summer of 2014 and have been trying to identify them ever since. They have not seen any since. They were exclusively on the midsummer asters.

Coordinator notes: I'm pretty positive this is Cucullia postera, an owlet moth. The larvae food using Asters indicates it's definitely a Cucullia species and Cucullia postera has larvae that look like the photo provided. Thanks, JAMES STEEN
