Observation date: February 13, 2022
Submitted by: Zencoyote
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Seen hilltopping on the "Volcano" in Calavera Open Space, among clumps of Buckwheat, Sage, Rhus, and Asters. This is the only place I have seen these, and they only show up around February or March. They compete for territory with the Gray Hairstreak and Duskywings, and get into many aerial duels which are interesting to watch by almost impossible to record.
