Observation notes: Two pipevine swallowtails nectared from purple-flowered asters (Dieteria sp.) established as a large stand on the floodplain of the Rio Grande. In image 5602 (2) there is a beige-colored patch on the ventral hindwing of the individual. The day was sunny, hot, and with light wind gusts.
