Observation notes: Photograph taken in Raleigh, North Carolina in the southeastern part of the city, close to Clayton and Garner. The weather was slightly cooler than average, and had been partially cloudy. The moth did not move when I came in close for a picture, and the wind ruffling its wings prompted no reaction. When I checked the site about 10 minutes later, there was no trace of the moth.
