Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Found on June 30th right before sundown, on the side of our house in a thick brush type area, laying on (and eating from) a tall vervain mallow flower about 3 feet off the ground. Weather humid and overcast, having rained the previous night. It was holding onto the petal with its back half and letting it's body dangle, which moves kind of stiffly. Movements vaguely reminiscent of a worm, arching mid body to move. It's light green in color with tan diamond or arrow like shapes down its back, outlined in dark brown, and smaller dark brown apostrophe shapes down either side of the diamonds/arrows. I think it has a double tail on its back end.
