Coordinator notes: This is Pieris marginalis venosa form castoria using the Pelham names Catalogue, in other words the form castoria is the light summer brood, the subspecies castoria is in the inner Coast Range, the Sierra Nevada and north into the Mt. Shasta area and southern Oregon. The subspecies castoria used to be called microstriata, the common name is the Small Veined White, but yours is a form of the Large Veined White. Complicated? Yes!-Ken Davenport
