Observation notes: Early evening, sunny, light breeze, about 60 degrees. The butterfly was flitting low over the dirt road near Guano Creek, about half a mile from the Kanawha River. It briefly landed on some dead leaves beside the road, then took off again. Nearby were sycamore, oak, maple, beech, Virginia pine, willow, cherry, elm, cinquefoil, honeysuckle vines, blackberry brambles, multiflora rose tangles, mixed grasses and 'weeds' just starting to come back.
