Northern Azure
Celastrina lucia

Observation date: May 16, 2021
Submitted by: wilderneyes
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: The weather was warm and sunny. The individual was seen flying outside and was briefly captured for photographing. This specimen was very calm while contained and was wandering around, rather than attempting to fly out. When brought outside and placed in the sunshine, it opened its wings. When the individual was allowed to fly out, it instead climbed up to perch on the lip of the container where it sat for a few minutes.
