Observation notes: A newly emerged Monarch drying its wings on a cool day after a lot of rain. I have now four other chrysalis I know of, three of which are Monarch. I assume they start on their flight south because I don't see any hanging around my butterfly garden, nor do I see any eggs. It has been much colder than normal for this year. This male was out and within the hour, gone. Cold, rainy.
