Observation notes: Hi Mike, this is the earliest sighting of a Monarch in our gardens, then in the first part of June a female was observed depositing eggs on garden milkweed, another record-breaker for me. Overall a great year for Monarchs! Kind of slow for butterflies in general, though, excessive Spring and Summer heat coupled with early Fall freezes did not seem to help.
