Grapeleaf Skeletonizer Moth
Harrisina americana

Observation date: September 17, 2020
Date notes: We are moving into Fall here, with batchelor buttons, thistle and pink clover and goldenrod being the flowers most in bloom in the wild fields and road sides. The location had a fringe of weeds by a row of mail boxes but the caterpillar was inside the box on the mail and could have been picked up by the postman by accident anywhere along the route.

Observation notes: Found on my mail in my mail box in Warrenton Virginia USA I don't even have a plant clue as to the caterpillar. I would like some suggestions as to types of plants to try that have a broad base of acceptance or else plants for several possibilities of caterpillar types if you cannot ID this one as it is. If I could get it to live I'd take more photos and then we'd all know... Unless of course you already do? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
