Snowberry Clearwing
Hemaris diffinis

Observation date: August 26, 2020
Submitted by: Ristich54
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: At first I thought it was a bumblebee (ha!), then I saw the long proboscis as it fed on the liatris blossoms. I thought it was a hawk moth or sphinx moth. Never heard of a Snowberry clearwing but I think that's what it is after searching on your website. Definitely has black legs. I shot some video in Slow Motion which turned out quite nicely. Wings are FAST!
