Observation notes: Found on a northern oak tree sapling which was about 3-4 feet near the shore of a natural lake my husband and I go for early morning fishing every other day. The oak sapling caterpillar was found crawling on had A very large pancake brittle gill mushroom growing tall next to the trees small sapling trunk and was within the middle of the oak leaves. Oak tree was about 10 inches in height and in the shade below of much much taller trees. Weather conditions were beautiful with light summer breeze, sunny sky which was cloudless, temperature 79 degrees, the humidity was around 60 percent, ground still moist from a late night rain and an early morning (4-6am) mist with moments of very light rain until it cleared out after sun had risen.
