Observation notes: I saw many of them throughout a foothill canyon southwest of Colorado Springs. I never got good looks or photos till I reached a woody plant (willow?) which was covered with flies and butterflies where my photographs are from.

Coordinator notes: Your suggested ID is correct. The flowers it is feeding on are those of the Fragrant Sumac, Rhus aromatica. The taxonomy of the Spring Azure complex is still being sorted out, but C. echo is now generally accepted as the species east of the continental divide in Colorado. West of the continental divide, it is the Northern Azure, C. lucia.
