Observation notes: Clear skies, about 70 degrees. Along a one-mile stretch of damp, dirt and gravel road, we saw more than 50 of these little moths. They were all floating about, frequently landing on the road and crawling a few inches before taking off again. Nearby were sycamore, oak, maple, locust, beech, virginia pine, redbud, buckeye, multiflora rose, autumn olive, honeysuckle, grapevine, mullien, red dead-nettle, cutleaf toothwort, spring beauty, coltsfoot, lots of dead brush from last fall.
