Regal Fritillary
Speyeria idalia

Observation date: July 31, 1942
Date notes: This Regal Fritillary was caught in London, Ontario, by my father, Eric K. Cossey. He added it to his collection. but he did not record a time of day.
Submitted by: Jay Cossey
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This was the only Regal Fritillary my father even saw alive. He told me the butterfly was in this condition when he found it (faded and tattered). That makes sense to me, because other Fritillaries in his collection of similar vintage still look vibrant.
