Observation notes: Property owner, L. Kaczmarek noticed a "darker" buckeye to the more Common Buckeyes present, while we were working in her gardens. The butterfly first seen on an aster, preferred asters and verbena to the other flowers in the yard. One photo by D. Leatherman; one by submitter, Janeal W. Thompson.

Coordinator notes: Janeal....as we have discussed.....I had to choose evarete as the species because the menu on BAMONA did not include zonalis. I think mentioned before when you sent the photo to me that this is a Prowers County record and only 3rd Colorado record for nigrosuffusa. Merry Christmas....Mike
