Date notes: Butterflies were all over this gravel road all afternoon for the past week. Photos from Sept 14 and 15.

Observation notes: 100 or more of these butterflies were resting on a short stretch of this gravel road for several days. Observed in previous Septembers also. The owner of the house next to the road sprinkles the gravel to keep the dust down, so perhaps the butterflies were attracted to the moisture. Warm (80 oF) clear day.
