Observation notes: I raise and release monarchs every year. To my surprise and utter pleasure, a male white monarch emerged from its chrysalis on that date. I released later that day after waiting for the rest of the batch to emerge to see if I might really shoot the odds and get a female. Of course not, I mean what are the odds?
