Observation notes: Not certain which species of Sphinx? This moth briefly buzzed my patio flowers on a particularly warm and sunny day in SE Alaska where it is normally cool and rainy. Had my phone camera nearby for three quick photos because it disappeared almost as quickly as it appeared. I have never seen a Sphinx moth in SE Alaska before. First time I ever saw one was the desert in SoCal-it was a White lined. I have zoomed in from the original.
