Observation notes: I observed two or three individuals flitting around a rocky waterfall along Steven's Trail in the Sierra Nevada foothills, CA. The morning was cool to warm with a slightly overcast sky. The butterflies frequently landed on the rocks and pumped their wings before taking off again for 20 seconds or so.
