Sheridan's Green Hairstreak
Callophrys sheridanii

Observation date: April 14, 2019
Submitted by: Jbrom
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Cool, windy day. About 8000 ft elevation. Butterfly was on granite rock, ponderosa doug fir forest to west, grassy meadow to east
Status: Resident
Verified by: A_baldini
Verified date: April 21, 2019
Coordinator notes: Correct, a fresh Sheridan's Green Hairstreak sunning itself to warm up in the cool mountain air. These are one of the earliest-emerging species in the foothills and mountains of Colorado, and my personal 3rd favorite butterfly in the state (after the Indra Swallowtail and Silver-spotted Skipper).
Checklist region(s): United States, Colorado, Larimer County
