Observation notes: low to mid 60s. slight breeze. sunny. There was some movement happening. about 20 individuals puddling at this site. Several others seen at other localities that I would stop along the road. most were moving rapidly. there were still Vanessa cardui moving as well. they were not interested to stop to puddle. Also, a few of these tortoishells seemed to be attracted to me. they came and sat on the gravel within a foot of me.
