West Coast Lady
Vanessa annabella

Observation date: March 19, 2019
Submitted by: Karen Richardson
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: landed on a planter of violas in my back yard; sat still long enough for me to take some photos; I thought it was a moth because the wings were open, but looks like photos of painted lady butterflies; I am in the migration zone for painted lady butterflies (central valley of California), but I only saw one
Status: Resident
