Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Time: 2:43 p.m. Weather: Warm, fairly calm, and mostly cloudy (it rained at one point). Habitat: Sparse coniferous forest. Notes: I came across this small red moth(first three photos) nectaring at an extremely isolated flowering rabbitbrush (fourth photo) high up on the Well Gulch Trail, within coniferous forest habitat. Using iNaturalist and internet searches, I could not find any species of moth that even remotely resembles this one.
