Observation notes: Sunny, 80 degrees, light breeze; it had rained the night before. The butterfly was moving among leaves and stems in a patch of brush, not seeming in a hurry, about two feet above ground. Nearby were soybean fields, flooded in some parts, a barn with cows, goldenrod, bindweed/morning glories, multiflora rose, autumn olive, wingstem, mixed grasses.
