Anna's Blue
Plebejus anna

Observation date: July 18, 2018
Submitted by: 4oclockwatch
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I was remarking to a fellow observer on how much whiter one of the blue butterflies was than others of the 50+ at the dry mud spot congregation. They all were very docile, we could sit down next to them. they hardly noticed us. When she put out her finger, the whiter one climbed on it, and I took this photo.
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: Anna Blues do tend to be docile, and bigger than Melissa Blues. Glassberg lumps them with Northern Blues (P. idas) but both co-occur in some places in Canada.-Ken Davenport
