Observation notes: Scattered clouds created an off and on sunny day. Little wind. This is the earliest Woodland Skipper (by ten days) I've found in Mendocino County. First noticed it due to an American Lady flying in the area. Underwing pattern is very lite. Most of these skippers In the area are darker and with a more distinct pattern.
