Observation notes: I startled this big moth when I went out to water plants this evening. It as the size of a swallowtail, but its flight was a more frenetic than most butterflies. It landed up under our awning and I got a better look and took this photo. Its wingspan was approximately 5”. Only moth of comparable size I have seen around here before is a Luna Moth. I was curious what kind of moth this is.
