Lorquin's Admiral
Limenitis lorquini

Observation date: June 15, 2018
Submitted by: Lisahug
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: very windy. mostly hanging around wild rose and willows along the boardwalk trail. I've seen these here before, only ever here, and every time I visit here. So, if you never see a pure Lorquin's or a pure Weidemeyer's in the area, how long has it been since this population has been fed by either pure parent?
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: This is a hybrid with L. weidemeyerii but I must call it a lorquini here to accept it. Both species occur together in much of Mono County. The lorquini parent seems dominant here-Ken Davenport
